Our Learning Model

Our unique learning model enhances the learning experience of every student!  We are truly breaking the barriers in providing the highest quality education available.

Blended Learning: A style of learning in which students learn by combining one-on-one AND small group learning; online media AND traditional face-to-face teaching.

ONE TEACHER

Every student is assigned to one teacher that will guide them through every part of their curriculum.

ONE-ON-ONE INSTRUCTION

Our learning model teaches our students to be self-motivated, self-disciplined, and accountable–essential skills for future success!  Our teachers actively engage and support our students along the way, providing enrichment and one-on-one tutoring as needed.  The small teacher-to-student ratio gives our students the opportunity to achieve their greatest academic endeavors.

SMALL GROUP TUTORIALS

EML-AZ’s environment is conducive to creating small learning groups where teachers are responsible for student growth and learning. Small group tutorials are tailored around the philosophy that not all students learn at the same time or in the same way, but group activities can help all students improve their mastery of standards and encourage a strong sense of community.

ONLINE CURRICULUM

The online curriculum includes a rich mixture of online and offline teaching tools, including interactive animations, award‐winning printed books with beautiful illustrations and narrative, original CDs and videos, and materials for hands‐on experiments. Online assessments are integrated with the planning and progress tools, making it easy to find the right pace for students to stay on track. While the majority of the courses offered in this platform are core curriculum, Edgenuity has added a significant number of courses that offer the students an education in Career Technical Education.

TEXTBOOK CURRICULUM

The teacher-created textbook curriculum uses AZ standards-based industry publications, novels, and multimedia materials. There are assessments embedded (formative) throughout the curriculum, as well as comprehensive end-of-course exams that address the AZMerit and AIMS criteria (summative) that include a performance task designed for the students to demonstrate content area mastery based on the Arizona College and Career Standards.

FLEXIBLE SCHEDULING

Find the focus to catch up and the freedom to accelerate at a pace that optimizes learning for you!  At EML, our flexible scheduling better serves our students’ academic and personal needs. Unlike traditional schools, students are in the classroom 5 days per week during their designated 4-hour time block.  In addition, students will need to set aside time for home study to meet their academic goals.
